The Foundations courses have been developed for young students. They supplement the printed (or PDF) Foundations curriculum. They are a great resource for teachers new to the curriculum or who need additional independent practice activities for their students.
Do I need to purchase anything additional for the Foundations Online Supplement?
Yes, Foundations is designed to accompany the Foundations curriculum. You should have the Foundations curriculum in either print or PDF.
What is included?
- Videos: The Foundations Online Supplement courses include video lessons for every major concept taught in the Foundations curriculum. Teachers may choose to teach by using the scripted lessons in the Teacher’s Manuals or by showing their students the online video lessons.
- Activities: The Foundations Online Supplement courses also include digital games and activities for students to complete independently under the supervision of their teacher. The activities can replace or complement the activities in the printed curriculum.
- Songs: In Foundations A, B, and C the songs from Doodling Dragons, Whistling Whales, and Knitting Knights respectively are included.
Can more than one student use the Foundations Online Supplement?
Yes, students can watch the videos together and take turns completing the online activities, or courses can be purchased individually for each student. See Multiple Students on One eLearning Account
How will I know how my student is doing?
Using the Teacher’s Manual, teachers will give students an assessment after every fifth lesson. Teachers will also monitor the progress of students throughout the lesson through both hands-on and digital activities. At this point, data from the online activities are not recorded, so teachers will need to monitor progress.
