Grammar Flash Cards Editions
The Grammar Flash Cards have gone through several updates over the years to reflect new concepts. We have added these updates to Logic of EnglishⓇ curriculum to provide greater clarity and understanding.

Compatibility Notes
The Third Edition of the Grammar Flash Cards may be used with any Logic of English curriculum. See notes below if using older Essentials printings.
The First and Second Editions of the Grammar Flash Cards may be used with any edition of Foundations D and with older (pre-2018) printings of Essentials. We do not recommend using these cards with current Essentials books (Essentials 1-7, 8-15, 16-22, and 23-30 Teacher's Guides). However, guidance for those who would like to use the older set of flash cards with newer books can be found below.
For those using current Essentials books (2018 or later):
We recommend updating to current Grammar Flash Cards if you have an older set of these cards, in order to have complete and compatible content. Many concepts now taught in Essentials are not included in the First and Second Editions of the Grammar Flash Cards. However, for those who prefer to continue using an older set, an update PDF is available here: Grammar Flash Cards Third Edition update cards
For those using older Essentials books:
Essentials Teacher's Guide, Second Edition, Volume 1 (2015): Use the newer Grammar Flash Cards with this Teacher's Guide. Note that you will encounter occasional wording updates and discrepancies in card numbering. However, most of the changes are in the cards used in Lessons 16-30 and do not affect grammar instruction in this volume. The First and Second Editions of the Grammar Flash Cards are fully compatible with this teacher's guide.
Essentials Teacher's Manual, First Edition (2012): If you use newer Grammar Flash Cards, the card numbering will differ from the number listed in the Essentials First Edition Teacher's Manual. So you will want to verify that you have the right card for the concept you are teaching. There will be clarified wording; we recommend using the wording on the new cards if you have them. A few cards from the old set are no longer included because they are no longer taught in Essentials; when introducing one of these concepts from the older edition, write the rule on the board. (You will find the text of each rule in the Teacher's Manual.) The First and Second Editions of the Grammar Flash Cards are fully compatible with this teacher's manual.
