Essentials Online
Essentials Online has been developed for older students (8 years through adult) so they can complete the curriculum more independently than with the printed material. See Teacher’s Role in Essentials Online.
Do I need to purchase anything additional for Essentials Online?
No, Essentials Online can be used as a stand-alone course. However if your student is struggling, it is beneficial to use both the printed and online Essentials curricula together. All lessons are correlated to the printed curriculum. Either print or online materials can be used as review, reteaching, extension, or an alternative way to teach the information.
What spelling levels are included in Essentials Online?
Spelling levels A, B and C are included in the courses. Please give the placement test using the PDF or use the online version to determine spelling level.
How will I know how my student is doing?
Teachers will give students an assessment (using a PDF in the course) for part 5 of every unit. At this point, data from the online activities are not recorded, so teachers will need to monitor progress. This can be done by periodically checking in, asking students to screenshot the completion page on activities, or monitoring how students apply what they are learning. See Independent Learning with Essentials Online.
Can more than one student use Essentials Online?
Yes, students can watch the videos together and take turns completing the online activities, or courses can be purchased individually for each student. See Multiple Students on One eLearning Account
Can I use Essentials Reader or Rhythm of Handwriting with Essentials Online?
Yes, here is more information.
