Can I Start Foundations at Level C or D?
Logic of English® Foundations C and D are not entry points for the curriculum. There are two possible starting points for our Foundations program, Foundations A and Foundations B.
Completing Foundations A and Foundations B is necessary to develop foundational skills. For students already reading, it may be appropriate to skip Foundations A and move very quickly through Foundations B. For more information, see Starting Foundations With Children Who Are Already Reading.
Foundations A and B lessons systematically grow knowledge of phonemic awareness, phonograms, spelling rules, and other linguistic concepts needed to begin Foundations C. Your student will not have the background knowledge in these critical concepts if they start with Foundations C or D.
Older Students
Older students new to Logic of English should start with our Essentials program. Essentials teaches all the phonograms and spelling rules and is designed to meet the needs of students ages eight and up.
